Hi, I'm Ross Kakuschke, aka DJ Granolaboy.

I started collecting records at the age of 16, enthralled with the rich hi-fidelity sound you can only get off of vinyl. I started buying 1960's acid rock and then my collection grew and grew through 1970's metal and art rock bands. Hip hop emerged and I bought many of the classic hip hop singles, and was blown away by the whole hip hop culture. My collection continued to grow with 1980's metal, industrial, punk, synth-pop and thrash. Then came the electronic music in the 1990's...trip hop, acid jazz, and then I discovered dance music.

Intrigued by the hi-tech psychedelic sounds, I fell in love with the various styles and was mesmorized by the dj's that took the records and mixed them into whole new creations. I resisted the lure of dj-ing for as long as I could...then finally I gave in. 12" singles started to fill my shelves and my ability to mix them together grew with it. First I fell in love with house...then breakbeats...then jungle...electro...techno...garage...glitch...step...meef.

It's not about the genre, or the tempo, or the style...it's about the music, but not by itself...

It's about sharing the music with your friends.
